On Meet the Press this morning, Tim Russert several times asked Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY), Clinton surrogate, if Senator Clinton should release her tax returns, Clinton library donors, and the White House archives to make her candidacy more transparent. Rep. Lowey continually dodged the question saying the information will be released at the right time and we should discuss the issues. Well Nita, one of the issues is open government and transparency of our elected representatives. The Bush administration has been one of the most secretive administrations of all time. To reverse this trend we need a candidate who is going to have the most transparent administration of all time. Senator Obama has released his tax returns and has fought for transparency in our government as seen here at Daily Kos. This is the type of candidate we need. Unless Senator Clinton makes her candidacy transparent in the next few days, releasing all her and Bill’s tax returns, White House archives, earmarks, and Clinton library and foundation donors, she won’t be a viable Democratic candidate.
